At the center of the enchanting rolling meadows, lived a shepherd boy. His existence was mostly pure, and unsophisticated. His primary duty was to look after his herd of sheep.
Their low murmuring and the murmuring of the breezes across the lone tree on the hilltop were his only co-dwellers. Day after day, guarding his wards inculcated in him a notion of quiet fulfillment.
But, there were at times moments of solitude, when the shepherd boy would pine for fellowship. In one such instance from sheer tedium, the shepherd boy devised a naughty plot.

One morning he ran into the village screaming “Wolf! There is a wolf that has taken my sheep!” The frightened villagers rushed up the hills to offer assistance but discovered nothing threatening.
The boy laughed at the puzzle on their faces. This game persisted for a few days more. But, one morning, a real wolf actually come to prey the flock. The shepherd boy dashed for help, shouting “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one responded.
Frustrated and alone, the boy fought against the wolf but managed to protect only few of his flock. Devastated, he went back to the town only to receive a scolding on honesty and the results of false alarms.
His tale of this shepherd boy has been handed down generations as a check here mediaeval parable for teaching the importance of honesty, the consequences of lying and the risks of false alarms. Moreover, it highlights how trust once broken, is tough to regain. It's a story as relevant today as it was anciently.
